Just finished 1st episode of Mysterious girlfriend X anime and I will praise the studio, animation stuff and voice actors for god tier adaptation.
Years ago goe showed me this strangely drawn manga with guy tasting one girls saliva and that was the moment I fell for it.
Recently I was talking with friends how anime with high school as setting are annoying but this one is so well made (and I'm fan boy of original manga) so I take my words back, just a bit.
Strange, but after watching first episode, images and memories of Earth Girl Arjuna started poping out in my head. Arjuna had huge impact on me and soundtrack from series is in my humble opinion best of Yoko Kanno's works up to day. With all the respect for Cowboy Bebop she wrote much more mature (as an artist) material for Arjuna.
But back to the MGX it got fantastic score as well. Floating between J.A.Seazer score for "Midori" and Joe Hisaishi's music for few Ghibli movies like Sen to Chihiro.
As for animation it's as well, really good. Riichi sensei style is very characteristic and not easy to animate yet producting studio made moving pin-ups of Uechiba Riichi's drawings. And with todays "moments" animation trend this series really stands out.
Even if it was crap I would most likely say at least few good words about it so if you are looking for anime without puke-sweet-fucking lolis but with weird and perverted background this is it.

Meine Damme und Herre, today is official retro day! (yay) for me.
I found some good retro anime openings and so on YT while browsing memes.
First I will show you, my dear readers a clip which in opening already got 'moments' (well known in the genre, spreading in latest productions).
Totsugeki!
Well, what to say if Misty sings OP & ED (pokémon joke, yeah my bad)
Frankly, I gonna so check it out later some day as it got this so missed by me flow of the older series.
Ok, nect clip will be Hatusmei Boy Kanipan. I don`t know this series and by it looks it`s yet another morning show for kids or rather boys as main duo is boy-genius (?) and his robot but what caught my attention is band behind this song - BAAD. If you want to shout out loud "I love you!" or just watched Slam dunk anime, you already know this group.
Is it me or does the pink-haired girl looks like... Washu Hakubi?
Ok, moving on there will be this clip.
I don't know how many of you ever heard of it as it again is your regular morning show entitled Jiku tantei Genshikun. I watched it on Swiss/German RTL2 and didn't like it at all when it was airing. Song was obviously reworked and in German but as I look at it now there is cool traced choreography and green-hair villain girl is in full S&M latex outfit so me like it nao hahahaha
And the song itself is nice, it sounds like late 90's miss Yoko Oginome but am not 100% sure.
Medabots is series I reaaaaaly enjoyed much because of the fantastic animation style it had. I have no idea who was key/head animator or chara designer but I loved the show just for the style of animation.
And if I'm already wetting my pants out of excitement, why not remind you this show:
Yes. Oban Star Racers! It got similar animation style but it's obviously much newer and had bigger budget as there was some contribution by Queen of Soundtracks, Yoko Kanno.
Oban SR is interesting from production view as well - it is joint project mixing French story and Japanese animation. Story is nothing new but show is really solid one.
Digimontamers was in my opinion best monster themed series I've event seen.
At the time when watched it, there was fabulous setting and story, great twists in plot and even better characters. I had great crush upon Ruki/Rika and ending was always tearing my heart, oh the cherished memories...
And if it came to this there's last videos I will put here.
Gotta re-watch and re-read this.
Really.

#209 /PINK HERBIE! FFS WIN!
Just finished watching micro marathon of Mezzo anime - those 4 episodes were really... well...
Ok again from the point A.
Mezzo Is overall good series with great if not my all time favorite setting: group of people who at some point crossed each others life-path and are now working and living together doing some serious and dangerous businesses because they are hired guns (and fists). JEEEEEEEZ'D MAH PANTSU
Oh my god. This is lovely and fantastic setting! Series like Black Lagoon or Cowboy Bebop are exactly the same oh yes oh yes oh yes.
Khem.
So! Mezzo is about trio consistent of former police officer, naïve guy who makes androids and kung-fu fan-service girl. There is also side kicking rori, Miura-chan. Oh right names: Suzuki Mikura, the kung-fu chick; Kurokawa Ken'ichi ex-cop and Harada Tomohisa, the droid guy.
So yeah, I've had watched 3½ episodes to be exact, as I was finishing second part of episode 5, and I really truly enjoyed the show despite some classic in the genre 'moments'. Particular there always are poor or worse moments made by rushed scenes or comical and fully accidental anatomy (classic: singing Lina and Amelia from Slayers... Slayers Next(?) with their super chibi heads or also from Slayers, strangely angled hand of Lina Inverse in the last seconds of ending). Animation is overall good and the show itself didn't aged that much. Series got 8 years and is still looking fresh but small pieces like memory card in 'T' shape can uncover it BUT I admit, I am sometimes moved by those little things yet sometimes it just blends (MiniDiscs in NGE for example was a bit flashy when I was watching it in early 2000's but now as am dreaming of having one of those sexy MD players, I really watch it with broad smile).
Each episode tells a different story and ends with more or less cheesy ending.
And it's not a bad thing. Hell, no! It's just that sometimes I'm fed with obvious stories and other day am looking for those. Today must be the day when I look for your regular action & tits show and Mezzo DSA (Danger Service Agency) is bulls eye hit. And that double-decker on the building rooftop oh go-o-o-d! So good!
Ah so yeah, to tell y`all I really am back on with the anime and manga & gaming. I really just needed short (about 3-6 week) break and there's still Canadian mate called Scott Pilgrim waiting for me to read all the adventures so this break just did broad my horizons.
That's all for this late hour - Mikura is waiting and I reall y want to finish the series as it got only 13 + prequel OVA made of 2 short episodes... there was manga? Gonna check it later!
Enjoy the OP of the series with great tune by the BARNABYS:

How cool is that? Put any machine, bus, plane or another building on top of primary one and it will be cool just like that. Or, equal, make it a dump area adapted for living or old wrecked plane. How cool is that? I tell you! It's 20% cooler~

I AM!But seriously I've just had read this thing: http://kielmaru07.wordpress.com/2010/06/04/life-stages-of-an-anime-weaboo/ and this is the most true shit that any otaku will agree.
Literally, you can see the stages (especially when socially recluded as stated here: link ) of yourself digging shit hole and going to the bottom and actually being pleased by those fucking cute moes...

hate when this happens :c

I am really sleepy for about 5 hours now but decided not to sleep during the day to avoid being totally woke in the middle of the night.
My not so usual journey trough day was filled with strange guitar playing, walking and listening to the music, to be precise, abusing one track by Wamdue Project. Yes, to those who know, like me, only one song by this man - "King Of My Castle". Basically this song is some fat bass, pumping drums, warped flanger bridge, soem pitch noises, hand clapping and vocals provided by Gaelle Addison; more info on wikipedia.
So yeah, this song is rather iconic for my generation, especially in teh aspect of the upcoming fanaticism pointing modern visual culture of Japan. But to the point.
By the strong memories and urge of something GITS-like I dug. I dug trough web and found some cyberpunkish tittles that by unknown power I have had missed in my life span. Thing like Cyber City Oedo 808 which I even downloaded but couldn't stand the original score... Things like Neo Tokyo (anthology), Silent Moebius, Dead Or Alive trilogy and many books. I am thinking of looking for some classics like "Do androids dream of electric sheep?" also grown a little curiosity 'bout Millers "Ronin" six-piece.
Basically, there is a ton of works I am interested about and on top of that, I did even made my own noise/rural ambience song? -not sure what the genre is but I love how it worked both song music and video, but must re-work it because of the rather low quality.
You can watch it here (well it must process so check back in about 1hrs 40 minutes): http://vimeo.com/27875461

Just finished Hensemi and I'm a little disappointed.
Basically series focus about perversion which is covered with everything (already running into conclusions) and shows a small group of students doing some twisted researches for their monster-faced teacher.
What I was expecting from series from both setting and design to be more light.
To tell: I enjoyed it to the very last episode but it was like drinking teas with 6 spoons of sugar instead of eating anything meant to be sweat.
And I also wanted some better pairing. Really.
And Anna left me in despair!
In the end, I can tell that Hentai Seminar is just slightly better then Panty & Stockings with Garterbelt which I detest.
That's a shame imo but oh well, it's not like it's 90`s anymore.

This is for delayed... friday? From two weeks ago.
I read today some essays and texts about evolution or changes in anime design and frankly if they could preserve early 90`s flow it would be super win.
With all my love and respect for GAINAX and so on, I hate some of the half or even quarter assed scenes they did, for example in some FLCL scenes. But this aside.
Animation in Japan is facing some troubles with it market itself.
There are tons of shows which are addressed to crazy otaku which will just watch anything with moe blobbish characters. And brutal + sex themed series witch, at some point, are somewhat better, but personally, instead of shocking pile of crap, I would like to be shocked by the extra twist of the very deep story. Or at least, be served with a story you could dive in.
I better end this, it's late, loosing my topic while writing and sleepy as well.

Drobne intermezzo.
. . . . . VENUS WARS!

A powod prosty: Kuroneko.

Reanimowałem komiks z zakonnicami i zielarkami, zrobiłem prawie dwie plansze dzisiaj.
A seiyuu głównej bohaterki grała też Nodokę z Negima?! i Ai z Jigoku no Shojo - ma przyjemnie niski, zaspany głos.
Głos to coś pięknego, chyaba jedna z najważniejszych rzeczy w człowieku - ja ostatnio seplenię i bełkoczę więc jestem brzydki. Szkoda.
(btw. muszę zrobić post z samymi obrazkami z anime - the screencapture rapture on your ISP thread :I yah! )

The Tatami Galaxy albo 四畳半神話大系(Yojou-han Shinwa Taikei) jest urzekającą historią o losie, przeznaczeniu, zgubie i miłości. OKE? ...no.)
Zaraz 4 odcinek sobie obejrzę, i spać.
Ending jest genialny.

- Amagami SS
- Sora no Otoshimo FORTE (które to kiedyś skończę)
- Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru
- Shinryaku! Ika Musume
zostało mi:
- Bakuman
- Kuragehime

Ponad to, zacząłem oglądać "World God only knows" - chyba najbardziej dla openingu. Jeśli komuś się podoba TYLKO czołówka to odsyłam do "Eden of the East" z którego wciąż dwa filmy na mnie czekają.
A oto i op do WGOK (ten skrót brzmi koszmarnie...) :
Straszny chaos, lag, nieogarnięcie jednostek i zmiany w grafice wymagają resetu całej gry... 3.7GB? No, thank you.

MUAHAHAHAHA!
